A mountain getaway for a Chicago-based family seeking a retreat in the stunning natural landscape of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Soucie Horner partnered with CLB Architects to create a welcoming home that allows its natural setting – and our clients’ private art collection – to star. Pieces from Andy Warhol, Richard Serra, Deborah Butterfield, Roy Lichtenstein, Purvis Young and other luminaries of the art world drove design from the outset to showcase the collection. To highlight the home’s gallery-like spaces, expansive glass facades and a custom, glass entry stair maximize natural light; they also open the home to spectacular mountain views. Warm, earthy combinations of wood and stone – both inside and out – are complemented by an equally natural color palette and an abundance of cozy yet sophisticated textures. Designed to support a lifestyle centered around family togetherness and outdoor activities, rooms were designed to gather parents and teens with comfortable ease – and to welcome their frequent guests with private quarters that anticipate every need.
