Pleasant Hill

Open during harvest season for U-Pick blueberries, Pleasant Hill Farm has been in the business of growing organic Michigan blueberries for over 40 years. Their soil is rich with peat and has an environment perfect for cultivating plump, juicy berries.  The farm operates “off the grid” with solar and wind-powered energy. Order their blueberries online from September through May, if you miss the U-Pick Season.  Pleasant Hill is also known for one more amazing feature.  In the early summer, they fill at least one of their fields with a wildflower mix.  The show of blooms, meant to feed their bees, is simply spectacular.

Mud Lake Farm

Tours are available at this hydroponic farm by appointment only, but their lettuces feature highly at local farmers markets.  And, many of the fine restaurants in the area serve them. There are about 40 varieties at Mud Lake Farm. And, through their Salad Share program, we have access to local, fresh, organic, greenhouse lettuces all year round.  Their arugula is just one of many items we use a lot of at Wickwood Inn!

Crane Orchards

Apples, cherries, peaches, and pumpkins are the stars at this U-Pick farm in Fennville, MI. But more than just fruit picking, it’s a fun-for-the-whole family destination. Offering hay rides and cow trains, Crane Orchards’ fall highlight is a corn maze. Crane’s carves a 20-acre corn field into challenging routes and ‘road blocks’.  It’s a delightful activity that pleases all ages.

Dee’s Lakeshore Farm

This 40-acre farm, in operation for more than 50 years, lies just east of Lake Michigan in the heart of Michigan farmland.
