The trails are now open for for Cross Country Skiing and/or Snow Shoeing in the area, try:

  • Saugatuck Dunes State Park
  • Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area
  • Pigeon Creek park and Forest (15 miles)
  • Holland’s Outdoor Discovery Center (10 miles)
  • The Allegan Game Reserve (10 miles)
  • Love Creek Park on Huckleberry Road in Berrien County (about 45 minutes away)

Downhill Skiing nearby:

  • Bittersweet Ski Resort (25 miles)
  • Cannonsburg Ski Are (less than one hour away)

Sleigh Rides:

  • Bittersweet (Belgian horses and hay cart) near Fennville (featuring hot chocolate and cookies afterwards!)
  • Wild West Ranch (a beautiful old fashioned sleigh and horses) in Allegan

Open In Winter For Your Own ‘Olympic’ Experience

Feeling up for a bit more adventure and the need for speed? Why not try the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex Luge Track which, obviously, is only open in winter. Built by an olympian, open to mere mortals, this is one of only four luge tracks that exist in the United States.

Shorter in length than the Olympic tracks in Lake Placid and Salt Lake City, the Muskegon track provides an Olympic thrill with the safety of the participant in mind
